WLAN adapter to use with nintendo wii ?

i bought a wlan adapter from ebay to use with my nintendo wii but it wont work. why ?

It needs to be a Wii specific USB to LAN adaptor. If it is then check that the cable you are using is correct (through cable not a X-Over one) and is plugged into a valid port on your wired router. If all that is ok then the odds are it's faulty, these things do happen!
