Can I create a wireless connection with only a 2Wire LAN card?

I have a 2Wire 80211g Wireless LAN Card. Or something similar. I'm looking to just have a wireless network, or to project a wireless signal. Is that possible? I'm looking to project a wireless signal so that my iPod touch can access it using WiFi.

Not sure if it's possible, but I thought I would ask. Thanks in advance.

Yes, the wireless NIC card will enable you to use a wireless connection but it will not provide you with one. Wireless NIC card like the one that you have mentioned are used when a computer does not have a built in wireless adpater. So this card that you have is there to provide your computer with wireless capabilities. You will still need a router to give you a wireless signal. Once you have purchased yourself a wireless router then this card can be plugged into a computer (If it dies not have wireless built in already) enabling you to use the internet on a wireless connection. If you are trying to get the iPod to work on the wireless then it would connect to the connection that your router is providing by detecting the network and having you type in the password which you will set on your router. Your iPod already has built in wireless there is not need for an external wireless adapter such as your 2wire.

If you are not able to find the support that you are looking for then contact your ISP (The manufacturer that your internet has been provided by) they can provide you with the steps neccassary to setup the wireless connection in your home.
