hello i want to start a small ISP wireless setup in my area I have D-Link ANT24-1500 to 15 dBi gain antenna ...?
hello i want starting a small ISP wireless setup in my area I have D-Link ANT24-1500 to 15 dBi antenna gain now the problem is that the houses in our area are made of bricks, so I'm not sure the time the signal will pass through as well i am not sure that also the time for outdoor AP or one or router tells me it's more powerfull.someone told me I should use auotgain with the antenna booster that will allow users to connect inside there is space using only USB wireless adopter if yes, then what the power Is it necessary or 2w 1w booster. I also just want to not want to use alongside the AP Users who want to be able to connect through adopter to say what type of equipment is needed to make it possible i want to cover atleast 2 km area and a directional antenna better than the Omni please only experts should answer my question
If only it were that simple! Firstly - have much more than a cheap consumer grade antenna! To cover two kilometers to the users can use the adapters that are in the machines they currently have, will multiple access points integrated in the area. There are several "mesh" systems that allow this. I need each AP so that it is mounted above the roof tops and capable to "see" the next AP in the system. That usually means that a power pole or light pole or a user supplied pole of some sort! This means you must have power at each unit as well. You can not legally run more than the maximum allowed power. You need to check regulations the FCC and the use of limits. (2Watts is well above the legal limit! 1watt just below and only allow a small antenna!) You will need Internet BIG enough to handle the users! (Multiple DSL lines or T, but with sufficient bandwidth to allow everyone to connect.) You We also need business class lines that you are not violating ISP terms of use policies.
