what kind of wireless card do I need for my powerbook G4 to connect to my DSL Router?
(it says I need a IEEE 802.11b/g PC adapter card)? and where can I buy one cheaply? I have a westell versalink router that has wireless capability.
If it is a titanium Powerbook G4, it uses the classic airport card. You need a torx screwdriver to remove the bottom lid, the card fits in a metal cage aligned atop the pc card slot, you can spot it because it will have a small cable to connect the card to the antenna.
If it is an Aluminum Powerbook G4, then it uses Airport Extreme. It is a much smaller card. Remove the battery, there is a slot to install the card in there.
You can also buy a usb clone of either of these cards. You can find those on eBay and cost almost the same as a used card.
