Computer geek question about home made antenna for WIFI question.?
I want to build this that I found on the internet here.

But the problem is, is he never explains how to connect the frayed end of the pigtail to his laptop internet card. Anyone know how?
All his pigtails in his pictures are terminated with some SMA, TNC or N connectors. If building this, you have to get the right cable for your home wireless device, usually a mini connector on the wireless card itself. You have to look up your card and determine what kind of connector to get. You then get a pigtail with that connector to a "N" connector. From there, you run a coaxial cable to the antenna, terminated hopefully with a "N" connector too.
The connectors from the antenna to the computer are irrelivent, it is just the final pigtail to your wireless card that is important.
Remember that laptop wireless that is built in has no external antenna connector. A lot of add-on wireless cards for laptops also do not have any external connectors. Most desktop wireless cards, with the external antenna, do have - usually RP-SMA connectors....
