Where to put a .DRV file for my sound card?
I uninstalled my sound drivers a while ago and have managed to download a .DRV file, but i have no idea what to do with it??? please help.... the sound card is , legacy audio and im running XP
Are you sure that the .DRV file you downloaded is compatible with your motherboard and the onboard sound? I recommend you goto the website of the manufacturer of your machine, they will offer you a free download of the sound drivers and that program should place the files where they need to be for the sound card to function properly.
If you are sure that the .DRV file you downloaded is correct, it most probably goes into the C:WindowsSystem32 directory.
