Can you help me pick out a Wifi antenna?

I am looking to buy a wifi antenna to hook to my laptop to get better connections.I don't eally know what I am looking so can someone help.Someone told me there is a antenna that you can plug into your computer that picks up wifi signals. I need help picking one out.Thanks

Have you identified an external antenna port on your laptop? DO you even HAVE an external antenna port on your laptop? Doesn't it seem a bit strange that you are trying to follow the advice of someone who didn't bother to FINISH giving you advice, but just said some half-a$$ed statement like...

"Oh yeah, there's this antenna thingy you can hook up to your laptop. I dunno what it is, and I dunno where to get it, but sure, that's what you need."

... and you just take it like the word is gospel?

You would need to purchase another wireless card first. It would have to be a very SPECIFIC wireless card that is USB, and has an external antenna. And there are only two companies that make cards like that... one is over $400, the other is about $40.
