Xbox 360 with no ethernet connection?
I am getting an Xbox 360; however, my router and computer are on the top floor and the console will be in the basement. Further, I have no way of running an ethernet cable from my router to the basement (I've also heard the wireless adaptor for the 360 sold by MS isn't very good). Should I be looking for a wireless receiver of sorts? How would I set this up?
Wired will always be best but wireless is convenient. I've not heard that the MS XBOX wireless adapater is any worse than any other wireless connection, just more expensive. But it is a cleaner look and simple to install.
Is your router wireless?
If you have a laptop with wireless connection and it works in the basement you can use it as a bridge to get the XBOX online:
